Pharmacodynamics Metromikon properties – the combined drug rendering antibacterial, antiprotozoan, antifungal and trikhomonatsidny action. Metronidazole is active concerning protozoa: Trichomonas vaginalis, Gardnerella vaginalis, Giardia lamblia, Entamoeba histolytica and also anaerobic gram-negative microorganisms: bacteroids, including the Bacteroides fragilis group (B. caccae, B. uniformis, B. distasinis, B. ovatus, B. thetaiotaomicron, B. vulgatus), Fusobacterium, Prevotella (P. bivia, P. buccae, P. disiens), anaerobic gram-positive sticks: Clostridium, Eubacterium, anaerobic gram-positive cocci: Peptococcus, Peptostreptococcus.
Miconazolum nitrate has fungicide effect. Also yeast are most sensitive to Miconazolum of a dermatomitseta. It is active concerning the activator multi-colored depriving of Malassezia furfur, causative agents of some dermatomycoses (Candida albicans, Trichophyton, Epidermophyton floccosum, Microsporum). Shows activity concerning Coccidioides immitis, Aspergillus spp., Dimorphons fungi, Cryptococcus neoformans, Pityrosporum, Torulopsis glabrata, Pseudallescheria boydii and also concerning some gram-positive microorganisms, including staphylococcus and streptococci.
Action mechanism: the nitrogroup of a molecule of metronidazole, being an acceptor of electrons, is built in a respiratory chain of protozoa and anaerobe bacterias (competes with elektrontransportiruyushchy proteins – flavoproteins, etc.) that breaks respiratory processes and causes death of cells. Besides, at some species of anaerobe bacterias metronidazole has ability to suppress synthesis of DNA and to cause its degradation.
The fungicide and fungistatic effect of Miconazolum of nitrate is caused by inhibition of biosynthesis of ergosterol of a cover and plasma membranes of mushrooms, change of lipidic structure and permeability of a cell wall, causing death of a cell of a mushroom.
The pharmacokinetics
Metronidazole at intravaginalny use in the form of suppositories in insignificant degree is absorbed through mucous membranes and has practically no systemic action. Miconazolum is absorbed in a small amount through mucous membranes. It is metabolized in a liver with formation of inactive metabolites which are removed with urine. In not changed look it is removed with a stake.
Indications
- vaginal infections: a mecotic vaginitis and an urethritis at women, the mephitic gangrenes caused by microorganisms, sensitive to metronidazole,
- vaginal and vulvovaginal candidiases
- the superinfection caused by gram-positive microorganisms.
The route of administration and
Intravaginalno's doses, enter whenever possible, is deep in a vagina, in a prone position. The adult on one suppository of 1 times a day, just before a dream within 10 days in a row. Treatment is continued within several days after disappearance of all symptoms of a disease. Duration of courses of treatment and frequency of their carrying out is defined individually.
Side effects
At intravaginalny introduction – an itching, burning sensation, irritation of a mucous membrane of a vagina, especially in an initiation of treatment.
Contraindications
- hypersensitivity to metronidazole and Miconazolum (including to other derivatives of a nitroimidazole)
- abnormal liver functions
- pregnancy and the period of a lactation.
The special
instructions Use of Suppositories with metronidazole and Miconazolum are reduced by reliability of mechanical contraception (latekssoderzhashchy means: condoms, vaginal diaphragms).
In case of infection of the sexual partner and for an exception of a possibility of reinfection the simultaneous treatment of both partners is obligatory.
Medicinal interactions
Miconazolum increases efficiency of indirect anticoagulants, hypoglycemic means of derivatives of sulphonylurea, Phenytoinum. Rifampicin weakens therapeutic effect of Miconazolum.
Overdose
Due to the low absorption of drug the cases of overdose are not revealed

Storage conditions
In the dry, protected from light place, at a temperature from 15 °C to 25 °C. To store out of children's reach!
