Pharmacodynamics Mechanism properties of antiviral activity of Oxolinum is caused as its immediate effect on intensity of a virus reproduction and mediated by action through cells of the owner by of oppression of synthesis of RNA (ribonucleic acid) in the infected cells that interferes with reproduction of viruses.
Has the significant inhibiting effect on a reproduction of influenza viruses, Herpes zoster, adenoviruses, it is especially active concerning an influenza virus of A.V higher concentrations (1% and above) Oxolinum is effective
concerning causative agents of viruses of skin diseases (simple bubble and shingles, flat and vulgar warts, a contagious mollusk).
The pharmacokinetics
At local use in the form of 0.25% of ointment Oxolinum is soaked up slightly and has no significant systemic action on an organism.
Indications
- for prevention of flu, adenoviral infections
- for treatment of viral rhinitises
the Route of administration and doses
Ointment is intended for external use. For the purpose of individual prevention of flu it is performed by daily greasing of a mucous membrane of a nose by 2 times a day (in the morning and in the evening) during the epidemic outbreak of flu (usually for 25 days) or at contact with patients with flu.
For treatment of viral rhinitis with ointment 2-3 times a day for 4-5 days grease a mucous membrane of a nose.
Side effects
In some cases in the site of application of ointment are possible hyperaemia and an itching of mucous membranes. These phenomena soon pass independently without additional treatment or drug withdrawal.
