  • $7.60
Sku: d57b055a179f
Ingredient: Levamisole
One tablet contains the active substance - levamisole hydrochloride 59 mg (equivalent to levamisole 50 mg),

Excipients: corn starch, sodium saccharin, talc, povidone, apricot flavor, magnesium stearate, sunset yellow (E 110).

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacokinetics

Levamisole is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. The maximum plasma concentration is determined on average 1.5-2 hours after administration.

Levamisole is extensively metabolized in the liver, its main metabolites are p-hydroxy-levamisole and its glucuronide derivative.

The elimination half-life from the body is 3-6 hours. Less than 5% is excreted unchanged in the urine, less than 0.2% of the administered dose with feces.
Pharmacodynamics

Decaris refers to antihelminthic drugs. The mechanism of anthelmintic action is based on specific inhibition of succinate dehydrogenase, which causes blocking of the most important fumarate reduction reaction for nematodes and disruption of the course of bioenergetic processes in helminths. Paralyzed worms are excreted from the body, thanks to normal intestinal peristalsis, 24 hours after taking the drug.

Drug Interactions

When taken simultaneously with coumarin anticoagulants, dose adjustment of the oral anticoagulant is required, since the prothrombin time may be lengthened. Care must be taken when prescribing simultaneously with drugs that affect hematopoiesis.

Decaris can increase the level of phenytoin in the blood plasma, therefore, with their simultaneous use, it is necessary to control the level of phenytoin in the blood.

Special instructions

In the process of treatment with Decaris, a blood test should be periodically performed (at least 1 time in 3 weeks).

In most cases, encephalopathy is reversible and early use of corticosteroids improves the condition. The presence of a causal relationship with the reception of Decaris could not be established.

Application in pediatrics

The drug Decaris is not used in patients under 18 years of age due to the content of the dye "sunset yellow".

Features of the effect of the drug on the ability to drive a vehicle or potentially dangerous mechanisms
