Indications for use Rimecor MV

– adults as adjunctive therapy for the symptomatic treatment of patients with stable angina that is not well controlled or intolerant to first-line antianginal drugs

How to take Rimecor MV

Inside, during meals.

Rimecor MV is used 1 tablet 2 times a day (morning and evening). If you miss one dose, you should not double the dose of the drug at the second dose. A single dose is 35 mg, daily – 70 mg.

Possbile side effects

Often (≥1/100 ≤1/10):

abdominal pain, diarrhea, dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting
dizziness, headache, asthenia
skin rash, itching, urticaria

Rare (≥1/10000 ≤1/1000):

sleep disorders (insomnia, drowsiness)
palpitations, extrasystole, tachycardia
arterial hypotension
orthostatic hypotension, which may be associated with malaise, dizziness, or a fall in the patient, especially in people receiving antihypertensive drugs
“flushing” of blood to the skin of the face

Very rare (<1/10000, including isolated reports):

symptoms of parkinsonism (tremor, muscle rigidity, akinesia, increased muscle tone), unsteady gait, restless legs syndrome, other movement disorders, usually reversible after discontinuation of the drug
constipation
acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, angioedema
agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, thrombocytopenic purpura
hepatitis

Contraindications

hypersensitivity to any component of the drug
severe renal failure (creatinine clearance less than 15 ml/min)
severe liver dysfunction
Parkinson’s disease, parkinsonian symptoms, tremors, restless leg syndrome, and other movement disorders
pregnancy and lactation
children and adolescents up to 18 years of age

Special instructions

Trimetazidine may cause and worsen the symptoms of parkinsonism (tremor, akinesia, increased muscle tone), which should be regularly monitored, especially in elderly patients. In cases of doubt, patients should be referred to a neurologist for appropriate investigations.

With the appearance of movement disorders, such as parkinsonism, restless legs syndrome, tremor, unsteady gait, it is necessary to stop taking the drug.

These cases have a low frequency and are usually reversible after discontinuation of the drug. In most patients, recovery occurs within 4 months after trimetazidine is discontinued.

If the symptoms of parkinsonism persist for more than 4 months after stopping the drug, you should contact a neurologist.

Patient falls associated with unsteady gait or hypotension may occur, particularly in patients taking antihypertensive drugs.

Caution should be exercised when taking the drug in patients who have an increased time to remove trimetazidine from the body:

moderate impairment of kidney function;

elderly patients over 75 years of age.

Rimecor MV is not intended for the relief of angina attacks and is not indicated for the initial course of therapy for unstable angina or myocardial infarction, as well as in preparation for hospitalization or in its first days !!!

In the event of an angina attack, treatment should be reviewed and adapted.

lactation period

If it is necessary to use the drug Rimecor MV during lactation, it is necessary to interrupt breastfeeding.

Care should be taken when driving a vehicle or potentially dangerous mechanisms that require an increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.
