What is Validol?

Validol 60 mg sublingual tablets are tablets designed to dissolve under the tongue. Each tablet contains a solution of menthol in menthyl isovalerate, with a characteristic menthol smell and taste.

Validol is commonly used for mild angina attacks, travel-related nausea, nervous tension, hysteria, neurosis, and headaches linked to nitrate use.

The sublingual form allows the tablet to dissolve slowly in the mouth without swallowing it whole.

What is Validol used for?

Validol may be used in adults for mild attacks of angina, sea sickness and air sickness, hysteria, neurosis, and headache associated with taking nitrates. It is intended for short-term use according to the recommended dosing schedule.

Who should not use Validol?

Do not use Validol if you have hypersensitivity to the active substance or any ingredient in the tablet. It should not be used in cases of severe low blood pressure, acute myocardial infarction, or in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

What should be considered before taking Validol?

If pain in the heart area does not go away after taking Validol, medical attention is necessary to rule out acute coronary syndrome.

The product contains sugar, which should be considered by people with diabetes.

Can Validol interact with other medicines?

Validol may reduce headache caused by nitrates. Sedative and blood-pressure-lowering effects may be increased when used together with psychotropic medicines, antihypertensive medicines, opioid pain relievers, anesthesia medicines, or alcohol.

How should Validol be taken?

For adults, a single dose is 1 to 2 tablets. The usual daily dose is 2 to 4 tablets.

If needed, the daily dose may be increased, but the maximum daily dose is 600 mg.

The treatment duration is up to 7 days.

Place the tablet under the tongue and keep it in the mouth until it fully dissolves.

Do not chew or swallow the tablet whole unless instructed otherwise by a healthcare professional.

What are the possible side effects of Validol?

Side effects reported during prolonged use usually pass quickly on their own.

These may include mild nausea, abdominal discomfort, watery eyes, dizziness, temporary low blood pressure, and drowsiness.

Allergic reactions may also occur, including swelling, hives, rash, or itching. Seek medical help if any unwanted reaction appears or becomes concerning.

What should be done in case of overdose?

Possible overdose symptoms include headache, nausea, agitation, heart activity disturbances, reduced blood pressure, and depression of the central nervous system. In such cases, stop using the medicine and seek medical care for symptomatic treatment.

Can Validol be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding is possible only when a healthcare professional considers that the expected benefit for the mother is greater than the potential risk for the baby.

Can Validol affect driving or attention?

Caution is needed during the first hours after taking Validol when driving or operating machinery. Dizziness, drowsiness, or slower psychomotor reactions may occur.

What does Validol contain?

Each tablet contains 60 mg of menthol solution in menthyl isovalerate. The excipients are powdered sugar and calcium stearate.

What does Validol look like?

The tablets are flat-cylindrical, white or yellowish-white, with a bevel and score line.

They have a characteristic menthol odor.

Grey specks and a light powdered sugar coating may be visible on the surface.

How should Validol be stored?

Store Validol in the original package at a temperature not above 15°C or 59°F.

Keep it out of the reach of children.

Do not use the tablets after the expiry date.

The shelf life is 2 years.
