How should METROMICON and METROMICON-Neo be used?

• METROMICON: Generally, insert one suppository once daily before bed for a duration of 7–10 days.
• METROMICON-Neo: Often prescribed at a higher dose of two suppositories per day (morning and night) for 7 days, or up to 14 days in cases of persistent infections.

For best results, insert the suppository deep into the vagina while lying down, as this position facilitates correct placement.

What precautions are necessary when using METROMICON and METROMICON-Neo?

Both versions of METROMICON require the following precautions:

• Avoid sexual intercourse during treatment to ensure efficacy and avoid reinfection.
• Abstain from alcohol during and up to 48 hours post-treatment, as interactions can lead to adverse reactions like nausea, flushing, and abdominal pain.
• Be cautious with barrier contraceptives (e.g., condoms, diaphragms), as these may be weakened by the suppository base.
