What is Longidaza®?
Longidaza® is a medication designed for the treatment and prevention of conditions associated with the excessive growth of connective tissue. It contains the active ingredient bovhyaluronidase azoximer and comes in the form of a lyophilized powder for injection preparation. The medication is primarily used in combination therapy to address issues in various medical fields including gynecology, urology, surgery, dermatology, cosmetology, pulmonology, and rheumatology.
How Does Longidaza® Work?
Longidaza® helps to break down hyaluronic acid, a key component in connective tissue. By reducing the viscosity of this acid, Longidaza® facilitates the better absorption and dispersion of other medications and improves tissue permeability. This makes it effective in reducing fibrosis, adhesions, and scars.
What Conditions Can Longidaza® Treat?
Gynecological Conditions
Longidaza® is used to treat and prevent pelvic adhesions due to inflammatory diseases, tubal-peritoneal infertility, intrauterine synechiae, and chronic endometritis.
Urological Conditions
It is effective in treating chronic prostatitis and interstitial cystitis.
Surgical Applications
Longidaza® aids in the prevention and treatment of postoperative adhesions and promotes healing in long-lasting wounds.
Dermatological and Cosmetological Uses
This medication is used for the treatment of limited scleroderma, non-infectious onychodystrophy, keloid and hypertrophic scars, and severe acne scars (post-acne).
Pulmonology and Phthisiology
Longidaza® treats pulmonary fibrosis, fibrosing alveolitis, and various forms of tuberculosis.
Rheumatological Uses
It helps in managing joint contractures, including Dupuytren's contracture, tendonogenic contractures, arthrosis, ankylosing spondylitis, and hematomas.
