Compound
One capsule contains
- active substance - umifenovir (umifenovir hydrochloride monohydrate in terms of umifenovir hydrochloride) 100 mg,
- excipients : potato starch, microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal silicon dioxide (aerosil), povidone (collidon 25), calcium stearate,
- composition of the capsule shell : titanium dioxide (E 171), quinoline yellow dye (E 104), sunset yellow dye (E 110), acetic acid, gelatin.
Indications for use
Prevention and treatment in adults:
- influenza A and B, other acute respiratory viral infections, severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) (including those complicated by bronchitis, pneumonia);
- secondary immunodeficiency states;
Complex therapy of chronic bronchitis, pneumonia and recurrent herpetic infection.
Prevention of postoperative infectious complications.
Dosage and administration
Inside, before meals.
For non-specific prevention and treatment of influenza and other acute respiratory viral infections in adults:
Non-specific prophylaxis:
For non-specific prophylaxis during an influenza epidemic and other acute respiratory viral infections: 200 mg twice a week for 3 weeks.
In direct contact with patients with influenza and other acute respiratory viral infections: 200 mg once a day for 10-14 days.
Treatment of influenza and other acute respiratory viral infections:
- in uncomplicated course: 200 mg 4 times a day (every 6 hours) for 5 days.
- with the development of complications (bronchitis, pneumonia, etc.): adults - 200 mg 4 times a day (every 6 hours) for 5 days, then a single dose 1 time per week for 4 weeks.
For non-specific prevention and treatment of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS):
For non-specific prevention of SARS (in contact with a patient): 200 mg once a day.
For the treatment of SARS: 200 mg 2 times a day for 8-10 days.
In the complex therapy of chronic bronchitis, herpetic infection:
200 mg 4 times a day (every 6 hours) for 5-7 days, then a single dose 2 times a week for 4 weeks .
Prevention of postoperative complications:
200 mg 2 days before surgery, then 2 and 5 days after surgery.
Single dose - 200 mg.
The maximum daily dose is 800 mg.
Side effects
Rare (with a frequency of 1/10,000 to 1/1,000)
- allergic reactions: skin rash, itching
Contraindications
- hypersensitivity to the components of the drug
- children and adolescents up to 18 years of age
- pregnancy and lactation
Drug Interactions
When administered with other drugs, no adverse effects were noted.
Special instructions
Arbidol® should be used with caution in patients with concomitant diseases of the cardiovascular system, liver and kidneys.
It does not show central neurotropic activity and can be used in medical practice for preventive purposes in practically healthy people of various professions, incl. requiring increased attention and coordination of movements (transport drivers, operators, etc.).
Features of the influence of the drug on the ability to drive a vehicle or potentially dangerous mechanisms
The use of the drug in therapeutic doses in persons working with mechanisms and drivers of vehicles is not contraindicated.
Overdose
Symptoms - cases of overdose are not noted.
Treatment is symptomatic (in case of an overdose).

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.

Shelf life 2 years
After the expiration date, do not use the drug!
