Anauran® owes its therapeutic activity to its three active ingredients with antibiotic and anesthetic action, effective against ear canal infections.
The solution in ear drops in fact allows the active ingredients to reach the ear canal while significantly reducing the systemic absorption of the drug and thus limiting the onset of potential side effects.
100 ml of solution contains active substances:
Auxiliary substances: benzalkonium chloride - 0.01 g, propylene glycol - 44 ml, glycerol - 26.5 g, purified water up to 100 ml.
Acts locally, has no systemic effect.
Neomycin sulfate is a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic that acts bactericidal against gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus pneumoniae) and gram-negative (Escherichia coli, Shigella dysenteria spp., Shigella flexneri spp., Shigella boydii spp., Shigella spp., Shigella boydii spp., Shigella spp..) microorganisms; against Streptococcus spp. - inactive.
Polymyxin B is a polypeptide antibiotic. Active against gram-negative microorganisms: Escherichia coli, Shigella dysenteria spp., Shigella flexneri spp., Shigella boydii spp., Shigella sonnei spp., Salmonella typhi and Salmonella paratyphi; Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Not active against Proteus spp., Mycobacterium spp., Gram-positive cocci, fungi. It has a weak local irritating effect.
Lidocaine is a local anesthetic that quickly relieves pain and itching.
The local anesthetic effect is due to the blockade of voltage-dependent Na + -channels, which prevents the generation of impulses in the endings of the sensory nerves and the conduction of pain impulses along the nerve fibers.
Locally, into the external auditory canal using a special pipette. After instillation, keep the head tilted towards the healthy ear for several minutes.
Adults: 4-5 drops 2-4 times a day, children: 2-3 drops 3-4 times a day, depending on the severity of the disease.
The course of treatment should not exceed 7 days.
Before using ear drops, it is recommended to warm the bottle to body temperature by holding it in your hand to avoid discomfort associated with the ingress of cold liquid into the external auditory canal.
Hyperemia, itching and peeling of the skin of the external auditory canal, which disappear without treatment, after discontinuation of the drug
Ototoxicity, nephrotoxicity with long-term treatment (due to the absorption of neomycin)
Hypersensitivity to one of the components of the drug
Incompatible with monomycin, streptomycin, gentamicin, amikacin, netilmicin (the ototoxic effect of the above antibiotics may increase).
Anauran is used exclusively for ear diseases. For severe and persistent infections, topical treatment should be supplemented with systemic antibiotics.
Prolonged use of Anauran can lead to the development of a superinfection that is resistant to the treatment.
Application in pediatrics
For children under 1 year old, the drug should be used only if absolutely necessary and under medical supervision.
Pregnancy and lactation
During pregnancy and lactation, the drug should be used only if absolutely necessary and under medical supervision.
