Aminalon is intended for oral administration and is used to treat various injuries and injuries to the skull and brain. Stimulates the central and peripheral nervous system, brain functions and increases the energy potential of the body.

The main active ingredient of the drug - GABA - helps to restore metabolism in the brain, helps the brain get rid of excess dextrose, removes toxic substances from the body, and regulates the dynamic processes occurring in the brain. The drug helps to improve brain performance, memory, restores motor skills and speech apparatus after a stroke. The drug helps to restore blood pressure and relieves of hypertension. The medication helps to get rid of involuntary muscle contractions and increases the resistance of organs and tissues to hypoxia.

Aminalon is rapidly absorbed after administration. the maximum concentration is reached within an hour after ingestion. Completely the medication is excreted from the body after 24 hours.

Side effects

  • rashes on the skin;

Method of administration and dosage


Administered orally before meals.
Adults and children over 7 years of age are prescribed inside 0.5 - 1.25 g 3 times a day.
The daily dose is 1.5 - 3 g. Children aged 6 years - 2.0-3.0 g / day (8-12 tablets) in 3 divided doses.
The course of treatment is at least 2-3 weeks (optimally 2-4 months). If necessary, the courses are repeated 1-2 times a year.
In the treatment of kinetosis, adults are prescribed 0.5 g (2 tablets), for children 0.25 g (1 tablet) 3 times a day for 3-4 days preceding the trip.

Aminalon interactions


With simultaneous use, it is possible to increase the inhibitory effect on the central nervous system of benzodiazepine derivatives, anticonvulsants and sedative-hypnotics.
Strengthens the effect of antihypertensive drugs when used simultaneously with them.
When combined with vinpocetine, nimodipine, nicergoline in the elderly, hypotension and aggravation of cerebral circulation disorders are possible due to the development of hypoperfusion of the brain against the background of hypotension.

 

Special precautions

Special care should be taken when using aminalone in patients with labile blood pressure in the first days of treatment, due to the possibility of significant fluctuations in blood pressure.

Overdose


Aminalon has low toxicity.

Symptoms of intoxication occur only with the simultaneous use of extremely high doses of aminalon (more than 10-20 g) and are characterized by the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, fever, headache, drowsiness and bradycardia.
Treatment. There is no specific antidote. Relief measures include discontinuation of the drug, gastric lavage with activated charcoal, the appointment of enveloping agents (diosmectitis, starch mucus), supportive and symptomatic therapy aimed at eliminating the resulting disorders.
