drugs ATX D07XC01 Code Pharmacological Pharmacokinetics At Properties putting ointment salicylic acid has only local effect. Extent of absorption of topical corticosteroids depends on a form of medicine, integrity of epidermis and existence of occlusive bandages. Topical corticosteroids can get through the intact healthy integuments. The absorbability of drug increases in the presence of inflammatory processes in skin. Penetration of topical corticosteroids is promoted by use of occlusive bandages.
After dermal absorption, topical corticosteroids pass the same pharmacokinetic way, as system corticosteroids. Corticosteroids in various degree contact proteins of blood plasma, are metabolized mainly in a liver and removed through kidneys. Some topical corticosteroids and their metabolites are removed with bile.

Betamethasone Dipropionas has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and vasoconstrictive effect and is effective at therapy of a number of a dermatosis. In pharmacological doses the corticosteroids possess anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive action. The side effects characteristic of system corticosteroids, including oppression of function of bark of adrenal glands, can be noted at topical administration of corticosteroids, especially at newborns and at children.
System absorption of local corticosteroids and salicylic acid increases at treatment of considerable sites of skin and also when using occlusive bandages.

In case of irritation of skin, including excessive xeroderma, it is necessary to stop drug use.
Drug is not used in ophthalmology.
It is necessary to avoid hit of drug in eyes and on mucous membranes.
Use in pediatrics
For children perhaps more frequent emergence of signs of oppression gipotalamo – a hypophysial and adrenal system and emergence of outer corticosteroid effects under the influence of local corticosteroids, than at adult patients. It is connected with higher absorption of drug at children owing to the bigger size of a ratio of surface area to body weight. At the children receiving treatment by topical corticosteroids can be observed function oppression gipotalamo – a hypophysial and adrenal system, Cushing’s syndrome, a linear growth inhibition, lag in a weight increase, increase in intracranial pressure. Manifestations of adrenal suppression at children: low level of cortisol in blood plasma and lack of the response to stimulation of AKTG. Increase in intracranial pressure is shown by protrusion of a fontanel, a headache, bilateral hypostasis of disks of optic nerves. In this regard use of local corticosteroids at children has to be limited to minimum effective amount of drug and the minimum period of use.

Treatment: symptomatic treatment. The specified manifestations of overdose are usually reversible. If necessary correction of an electrolytic imbalance is shown. At manifestation of symptoms of a salitsilizm take measures for faster removal of salicylates from an organism.
