Pharmacological properties
the Bacteriostatic antibiotic from group of tetracyclines. The mechanism of antimicrobic action is connected with disturbance of formation of a complex between acceptor RNA and a ribosome that leads to suppression of synthesis of protein.
It is active concerning gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms – Staphylococcuc aureus, Streptococcus epidemicus, (Streptococcus pyogenes), (Diplococcus pneumoniae) of Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Haemophilus influenzae, Haemophilus ducreyi, Klebsiella pneumoruae, Francisella tularensis (Pasteurelia tularensis), Yersinia pestis (Pasteureiia pestis), Eschenchia coli Bacillus anthraas and also Chlamydia trachomatis. It is inactive concerning
some strains, Haemophilus influenzae, Klebsiella, Aerobacterspp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Serratia marcescens.
Indications
– blepharitis
– bacterial conjunctivitis
– trachoma
– a meibomitis (barley)
– a bacterial keratitis
– a keratoconjunctivitis
Routes of administration and doses
Locally, put for a lower eyelid of 3-5 times a day.
Blepharitis: 3-4 times a day within 10 days.
The bacterial keratitis, keratokonjyuktivit: 2-3 times a day within 10 days. If within 3-5 days the state does not improve, it is necessary to consult with the doctor.
Meibomitis (barley): for the night before disappearance of symptoms of inflammation.
Trachoma: each 2-4 hours or are more often within 1-2 weeks. Duration of a course of treatment of trachoma should not exceed 1-2 months.
