Pharmacokinetics At properties of instillation in a conjunctival sac pilocarpine gets into eye environments where makes the specific impact. At use in therapeutic doses drug is practically not soaked up in a system blood stream. The inactivation of pilocarpine occurs presumably by removal by its lacrimal liquid and in nervous synapses.

The Pilocarpine pharmacodynamics a hydrochloride belongs to M-cholinomimetic means. The mechanism of action is caused by excitement peripheral M-holinoretseptorov that causes a number of specific effects, including narrowing of a pupil with simultaneous reduction of intraocular pressure and improvement of trophic processes in eye tissues.

Indications
· bad attack of glaucoma
· secondary glaucoma (as a result of thrombosis of the central vein of a retina, acute impassability of an artery of a retina, an atrophy of an optic nerve, a pigmentary degeneration of a retina, a vitreous hemorrhage)
· chronic open angle glaucoma
· cornea abscess
· for the termination of mydriatic action after the use of atropine and other cholinolytics which are applied to mydriasis at ophthalmologic inspection.

The route of administration and doses
of Pilocarpine dig in a hydrochloride in each eye on 1–2 drops 2–4 times a day. Time intervals between instillations and the number of the last and also duration of a course of treatment are defined by the doctor.

Side effects

Contraindications
· an iritis, an iridocyclitis and other diseases of eyes in which the miosis closed-angle glaucoma is undesirable

· bronchial asthma
· children’s, teenage and youthful age (up to 18 years).
· periods of pregnancy and lactation
· hypersensitivity to drug components.

Medicinal interactions
Atropine and other M-cholinolytic means are antagonists of Pilocarpine of a hydrochloride. At simultaneous use with other parasympathomimetics its pharmacological action amplifies.

Special instructions
Just before use it is necessary to take a bottle with drug in a palm to warm up the last to body temperature. The lid is unscrewed, removed, and, slightly pressing on the bottle body, dig in solution in an eye. Overdose
Symptoms: persistent miosis, eye pain, disorder of vision, headache. Treatment: drug is cancelled, carry out instillation of drugs antagonists – a tropikamid, atropine or other its derivatives.

Form of release and packing
On 5 ml or 10 ml in a bottle polyethylene, enclosed together with the instruction for use in a pack.

The expiration date

After opening of a bottle drug is suitable 3 years 28 days. Drug should not be used after the termination of the expiration date specified on packing.
