Magnesium Pharmacokinetics properties sulfate as depletive works throughout intestines, but mainly in a small intestine. The effect occurs in 4-6 hours after administration of drug. At children of younger age the absorption of a small amount of laxative salts is possible. At the same time their kidneys slowly remove salts therefore there is a danger of their cumulation.

The Magnesium pharmacodynamics sulfate increases osmotic pressure in an intestines gleam that delays the water absorption (accepted with medicine and which is contained in an intestinal secret), increases the volume of intestinal contents which causes stretching of a gut and reflex stimulates a vermicular movement. Besides at increase in osmotic pressure in a gleam of a small intestine the secretion by her mucous membrane of cholecystokinin which not only strengthens an intestines vermicular movement increases, but also increases a blood stream in a digestive tract, increases secretion of digestive juice, relaxes Oddi’s sphincter, strengthens reductions of a gall bladder and raises bile current in intestines.

A route of administration and doses
Inside for the night or on an empty stomach in 30 min. prior to food the adult on 10-30 g in 1/2 glasses of water. To children 12 years on 10 g of 1 times a day in 1/2 glasses of water are more senior, than from 6 to 12 years 5-10 g in 1/2 glasses of water. To children up to 6 years only on doctor’s orders – at the rate of 1 g for 1 year of life. In a chronic constipation enemas (100 ml of 20-30% of solution) can be applied.
As bile-expelling accept inside on 1 tablespoon 20-25% (20 — 25 g in 100 ml of water) solution 3 times a day, carry out also duodenal sounding with introduction via the probe of warm solution of magnesium of sulfate (50 ml of 25% or 100 ml of 10% of solution).

At simultaneous use with nifedipine the profound muscle weakness is possible.
Pharmaceutical it is incompatible (forms a deposit) with calcium drugs, alcohol (in high concentrations), carbonates, bicarbonates and phosphates of alkaline metals, salts of arsenic acid, barium, strontium, novocaine a hydrochloride, salicylates and tartrates.

Special instructions
At long-term treatment the monitoring of arterial blood pressure, action of the heart, tendon jerks, functions of kidneys, respiration rates is recommended.
In communication by danger of cumulation of salts in kidneys at children, it is necessary to be careful at use of salt depletive with a heart or renal failure.

Overdose
Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, sharp lowering of arterial pressure, bradycardia, depression of respiratory and central nervous system.
