At allergic states the therapeutic effect of drug is caused by its ability to connect food-borne allergens, a histamine, serotonin and also the circulating cell-bound immune complexes and bacterial antigens that brings to strengthening of cell-mediated and antibody-mediated immunity, increase in quantity of T lymphocytes, decrease in eosinophils and reduction of an itching, hypostasis, urticaria. Side effects – a constipation – dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting – a diarrhea – decrease in absorption from a GIT of fats, proteins, vitamins, hormones – hemorrhages, a hypoglycemia, a hypocalcemia, a hypothermia, hypotension – candidiasis of a mucous membrane of an oral cavity – Contraindication dysbacteriosis – hypersensitivity to activated carbon or any component of drug – gastrointestinal impassability and suspicion on intestinal impassability – sharp abdominal pain, nonspecific ulcer colitis, bleedings from a GIT – children’s age up to 6 years Medicinal interactions Reception of Adsorbiks® Extra reduces efficiency of the oral medicines intended for increase in arterial blood pressure and antirheumatic drugs. The concomitant use of activated carbon and furosemide or oral contraceptives, can cause decrease in efficiency of the last. In such cases the use of additional methods of contraception is necessary. Special instructions At administration of drug there is a coloring of stool in dark color. In case diarrhea remains after three days of treatment, additional clinical and biochemical trials, for identification of a cause of illness have to be conducted. It is not recommended to apply activated ugl to patients who receive antiperistaltic treatment, because of risk of development of intestinal impassability which can lead to perforation. It is necessary to accept activated carbon not less, than in 1-2 hours prior to or after intake of other medicines. Pregnancy and the period of a lactation Use of Adsorbiks® Extra is not contraindicated at pregnancy and feeding by a breast. Overdose Symptoms: nausea, vomiting and constipation, intestinal impassability. Treatment: to cancel drug, to appoint laxatives.
