The pharmacodynamics
the Proteolytic enzyme received from pancreases of cattle hydrolyzes proteins and peptones with formation of rather low-molecular peptides. During hydrolysis the bonds formed by residues of tyrosine, phenylalanine and other aromatic amino acids are split mainly. Splits peptide bonds in a molecule of protein and products of its disintegration. Thanks to this mechanism possesses anti-inflammatory action as factors of inflammation represent proteins or high-molecular peptides (bradykinin, serotonin, necrotic products, etc.). the Route of administration and doses are established by the doctor individually for each patient.
When using novocaine as solvent, before use of drug it is necessary to carry out allergy test on novocaine. In diseases of respiratory organs (tracheitis, bronchitis, bronkhoektati-
a chesky disease, pneumonia, abscess of lungs, an atelectasis, bronchial asthma
with hypersecretion of a phlegm) drug is used intramusculary
in doses on 5-10 mg a day within 10-12 days. Further the course of treatment
can be repeated in 7-10 days. At the chronic, far come processes it is possible to repeat a course of treatment 3-4 times.
In the postoperative period (at the appeared atelectasis, or the beginning pneumonia) drug is appointed intramusculary on 5-10 mg (in 1-3 ml of 0.25% of solution of novocaine) in day. At the same time it is recommended to combine administration of chymotrypsin intramusculary with vagosympathetic blockade on the party of defeat according to Vishnevsky and use of chymotrypsin in the form of aerosol inhalations in 5% aqueous solution in number of 3-4 ml.
At a hemothorax, an empyema chymotrypsin is entered daily inside-plevralno on 20-30 mg (to dissolve in 5-10 ml 0.9% of solution of sodium of chloride or 0.25% of novocaine).
For the purpose of prevention of postoperative complications (
lung surgery) the drug is administered intramusculary on 5-10 mg daily, beginning
in 5-10 days prior to operation and continuing within 3-4 days after it.
At treatment of burns and decubituses after removal of freely removed
necrotic fabrics chymotrypsin in a dose of 20 mg dissolve 0.25%
of solution of novocaine in 20 ml and a fine needle several pricks enter under a scab.

In thrombophlebitises drug is appointed intramusculary on 5-10 mg

trypsin (prepares for 0.9% of solution of sodium of chloride).
In purulent sinusitis the drug is administered in an antrum of Highmore in number of 5-10 mg in 3-5 ml of normal saline solution after its puncture and washing.

Side effects
– tachycardia

Contraindications
– hypersensitivity to drug or products of proteolysis
– hypersensitivity to novocaine (at use of novocaine
as solvent)
– chronic heart failure of the II-III degree
– emphysema of lungs with insufficiency of breath
– dekompensirovanny forms of a pulmonary tuberculosis
– dystrophy and cirrhosis
– infectious hepatitis
– pancreatitis
– nephrite
– hemorrhagic diathesis
– malignant new growths
– children’s and teenage age up to 18 years
– pregnancy and the period of a lactation
do not enter Chymotrypsin into the centers of inflammation and the bleeding wounds and cavities, do not apply on the expressed surfaces of malignant new growths.

Medicinal interactions
Chymotrypsin can be applied in a combination with antibiotics and
bronchodilatory means.

Use during pregnancy or a lactation
